The Turcot project has been highly criticized by many community and citizen groups as studies prove it will increase pollution as well as destroy and expropriate citizens of the surroundings boroughs. Jason Prince, a Montreal urban planner, takes us through the points.

 

On April 13th, students and members of various community and political groups marched through the streets of St-Henri and Pointe St-Charles to link the student struggle against rising tuition fees with the discontent many citizens have of the government $3 billion-dollar proposal to rebuild the Turcot interchange, a major highway cutting through various underprivileged Montreal neighborhoods.
